Toyota Vios

Finally, decided to get a car. For those in Singapore, you will know that getting a car in Singapore is expensive because of a certain paper called COE, which costs about $10K and it's just to allow you to own a car.

Not that I stay very far nor is it that inaccessible to travel to work via public transport to my new work place in Jurong East - International Business Park. It's just the travelling distance and time taken. Right now, if I set off from home, it's a 1 hour 30mins travelling time to work. The same goes for going home too. Crowds are crazy at the MRT at Jurong East, worse than the famed CBD area of Raffles Place.

Went today to meet my SE - Valerie Aw of Borneo Motors at Leng Kee to test drive the Toyota Vios. Was pretty pleased with the driver's seat over the Toyota Axio I tried out earlier at the Singapore Car show. Needless to say, I made the deposit for the COE bidding of S$4280 via my credit card.

The total damage for the car is S$54,888 (less $500 cash discount). Spread over 7 years of installment, monthly damage is $748. Not including rising costs of petrol, parking, insurance and more.

The first COE bidding will begin this coming Monday and end on Wednesday. Let's see if I will get the COE at this bid.
